Instagram displays ~1080 wide (1080×1350 for 4:5 portraits, 1080-wide for landscape). Auto picks the right long edge per photo.

Preview is tone-mapped SDR (browsers only show the HDR pop on HDR displays with the OS/monitor in HDR mode). The downloaded file carries the gain map Instagram needs.

How it works: re-encodes the SDR base + gain map into a clean Ultra HDR v1 container (Google GContainer + Adobe hdrgm XMP + MPF) with every GainMapMin > −1.0 — the exact structure Instagram requires. Highlights are preserved; only sub-SDR shadows are adjusted per the chosen mode.

Instagram upload & HDR verification are manual. Post from the Instagram app/website as usual.
